Time estimates

Estimating effort is one of the easiest things to skip and one of the most useful to have. This helper proposes a time estimate for a task so you don't start from a blank field.

How it works

Ask for a suggestion and the helper reads the task and proposes an effort level and time estimate. You stay in control of the result — you can:

  • Accept the suggestion to apply it to the task, or
  • Dismiss it if it doesn't fit.

Nothing is set until you accept, so a suggestion is just that — a starting point to adjust.

Where to find it

Time estimates are available where you plan work:

  • On the Kanban board
  • On the Gantt & Timeline
  • From within a task

Better estimates, less debate

A suggested estimate gives the team a neutral starting number to react to. It's far easier to say "that's about right" or "no, double it" than to conjure a figure from nothing — and it gets every task estimated instead of just the obvious ones.
