Company roles

A company has eight roles. Each maps to one of the four capability levels, so you always know what someone can do from their role alone.

The roles at a glance

Owner	Admin	Full control of the company; the highest authority.
Admin	Admin	Full management across the company.
Manager	Admin	Company-wide oversight and management.
Member	Read/write	Does the work — creates and updates tasks, docs, and comments.
Contractor	Read-only	External contributor with view access.
Viewer	Read-only	Observer — can see, but not change.
Guest	Read-only	Limited external access.
Billing	None (no project access)	Finance-only; never reaches project work.

What each level can do

The four levels stack — each one includes everything below it:

So in practice:

• Owner, Admin, Manager can do everything, including creating and deleting projects and inviting people.
• Members do the day-to-day work — create and edit tasks and documents — but can't delete projects or invite people.
• Viewers, Contractors, and Guests can look but not touch.
• Billing never sees project work at all — it exists purely for the finance side.
