Glossary

Plain-language definitions of the terms you'll see across Bluprint.

Structure

Company

Your organisation — the top-level tenant in Bluprint. Everything (workspaces, projects, members, billing) lives under a company.

Workspace

A grouping of related projects inside a company, for example by team, client, or product line.

Project

Where the work happens. A project contains tasks, a Kanban board, a Gantt chart, documents, chat, meetings, and its own Associate.

Work items

Task

The core unit of work. A task has a title, description, status, priority, assignees, due and start dates, and a time estimate. Tasks can carry subtasks, dependencies, attachments, comments, and tags.

Subtask

A smaller unit of work inside a task, with its own status, priority, and description.

Status

Where a task is in its lifecycle: To Do, In Progress, In Review, Done, or Blocked.

Priority

How urgent a task is: Low, Medium, High, or Urgent.

Dependency

A link that says one task blocks another. Bluprint supports four types: finish-to-start, start-to-start, finish-to-finish, and start-to-finish.

Sprint

A time-boxed batch of work. You can filter the board by the active sprint.

Milestone

A marked point on the timeline (with a date and colour) used to track key deliverables on the Gantt chart.

Views

Personal Dashboard

Your cross-project home: every task assigned to you, upcoming deadlines, a daily brief, and project cards.

Kanban Board

A drag-and-drop board with columns for each status. Move a card between columns to update its status.

Gantt Chart

An interactive timeline showing task bars, dependency arrows, milestones, and the critical path — the chain of tasks that directly affects the project end date.

AI

The Associate

Bluprint's AI project partner, embedded in every project. It can read your data and take real actions through natural language.

STANDARD / MAX

The two Associate models. STANDARD is fast and general-purpose; MAX is more powerful and required for advanced tools like Gantt analysis and document generation.

Staging Workflow

The review step every AI write action passes through. The Associate proposes changes, you review exactly what will change, and only approved changes are committed.

Project Snapshot

An AI-generated project health view — a score, key metrics, risks, and recommended actions.

Daily Brief

An AI-generated summary on your Personal Dashboard of what matters today.

Collaboration & governance

Comms

The real-time messaging built into each project: channels, threads, reactions, @mentions, and presence.

Knowledge Centre

The document library for a project or company, where the Associate can read and answer questions about your files.

Roles

Your permission level: Owner, Admin, Manager, Member, Viewer, Guest, or Billing.

Audit Trail

A complete, immutable log of every action in a project — by humans and the Associate alike — recording what changed, when, and who did it.
